For nearly 20 years, Andrea Gritti has focused on assisting funds in investment, add-on and divestment transactions. Private equity has come to represent more than 80 percent of the transactions he has led in recent years. Prior to joining Portolano Cavallo, Andrea spent his entire career in the Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions at Gianni & Origoni, where he became counsel in 2017 and partner in 2018.
Andrea is experienced in all private equity investment and divestment transactions, including platform investments, cross-border leveraged and management buy-outs, buy-and-build structures and add-ons, minority investments, recapitalizations and special situations, pre-emptive and competitive sales, as well as complex reinvestment and management incentive structures.
“Hiring Andrea Gritti is the first step in our private-equity investment strategy,” said Francesco Portolano, partner at Portolano Cavallo. “Our goal is to be recognized as a leader in legal assistance to funds focused on Digital, Media & Technology and Life Sciences sectors, and to specialized teams at generalist funds, leveraging our solid leadership in those sectors.”
“Portolano Cavallo’s ambitious but realistic plan to grow its Private Equity practice area was a key factor in my decision to join the firm,” said Andrea Gritti. “I’ve worked in Private Equity for nearly 20 years and I am certain full-service capability of the firm, together with its excellence in Digital, Media & Technology and Life Sciences, and its international presence, will allow us to play a leading role in the coming years.”
