On January 28, 2021, by means of resolution No. 17/21/CONS, the Italian Communications Authority (“AGCOM”) launched a public consultation on the new LCN (logical channel number) plan, which will regulate the position of digital terrestrial television (DTT) channels in the channels line-up (i.e., on a remote control).
The first LCN plan was adopted in 2010, but the Consiglio di Stato, Italy’s highest administrative court, voided the relevant resolution. In 2013, the AGCOM adopted a new LCN plan that has never been implemented.
