Francesco Posteraro, former AGCOM Commissioner, joins Portolano Cavallo as Of Counsel

Portolano Cavallo is pleased to announce that Mr. Francesco Posteraro, former Commissioner of the Italian Communications Authority (AGCOM) from 2012 to 2020 and, previously, Deputy Secretary General of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, joins the Firm as Of Counsel.

During his time at AGCOM, Mr. Posteraro was the sponsor and reporter of numerous resolutions, including the regulation on online copyright protection. At the Italian Chamber of Deputies he directed the Office for the Rules of Procedure, the International Relations Department, and the Chamber Department, and he took the position of Deputy Secretary General in 2003.

Mr. Posteraro teaches Digital Communications Law at the online university Uninettuno and is an honorary member of the Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle (AIPPI). He is also the author of numerous legal essays. In 2019, he received a special award from the National Association of Italian Cinema Owners (ANEC, Associazione Nazionale Esercenti Cinema) for his efforts to safeguard copyright and combat online piracy.
