Laura is a partner of the firm since 2004.
She is among only five “Most highly Regarded Individuals” in Information Technology in Europe by Who’s Who Legal TMT 2015.
She has focused for more than 20 years on all legal issues concerning Internet and e-Commerce, personal data protection, consumer law and unfair commercial practices, advertising, IT law, new technology, digital media, contract law.
Laura advises clients on all the complex legal issues concerning the Internet and privacy: user generated contents, data scraping, social networks, cyber security, information governance, protection of databases, data mining, big data and predictive analysis of data. In the field of data protection she works on profiling, cookies, big data, employee monitoring, whistleblowing hotlines, location based services, cross border transfers of data, etc.
Laura graduated cum laude from the LUISS Guido Carli School of Law in 1996, with a dissertation on the first Italian law on data protection and privacy.
Laura speaks regularly at seminars and conferences on internet and data protection related matters, and she is the author of several articles in law reviews, such as Data Protection Law & Policy, eHealth Law & Policy, World Data Protection Report, etc.
Laura is ranked by Chambers Europe in the TMT: Information Technology sector (Band 2), by Legal500 in both the “Data Privacy and Data Protection” and the “TMT” sectors (“Leading Individual”), by the Expert Guides (Legal Media Group) in both the “Information Technology” and the “Women in Business Law” categories, and she has been recognized as a Client Choice International Awards 2020 winner in the Data Protection & Privacy practice area.
She has also been included by Who’s Who Legal both in the WWL: Italy 2020 and the Data 2020 guides, where she is the only Italian lawyer among the European “Global Elite Thought Leader” for the “Data Privacy & Protection” and the “Data Security” categories.
She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Italian Privacy Institute (an Italian data protection think tank), of the Board of Directors of ITechLaw, of The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), of the Professional Women’s Network of Rome (PWN Rome) and she is vice president of the Women&Tech – Donne e tecnologie Association.
She has obtained the Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) certification and the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) certification through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
