Alessandro joined Portolano Cavallo in 2023 as of counsel and leads the firm’s Banking & Finance practice. In 2024 he became a partner in the firm.

Alessandro has a great deal of experience in banking and finance and has assisted financial institutions, banks, investment funds, and companies in respect of national and cross-border leveraged and acquisition finance transactions, corporate loans, asset finance, and high-yield bonds. He has also provided both lender-side and borrower-side support for sponsors in leveraged buyouts (LBO).

Alessandro has a lengthy track record with open innovation and digital transformation projects. He has also worked on all types of Venture Capital transactions (Seed, Series A, Series B, and Series C) with both investment funds and startups.

Alessandro works with a number of professional associations and is a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences. He also serves as a startup mentor through several programs, such as Bocconi4Innovation and Fin+Tech.

He was involved in drafting the Italian version of the Subscription Agreement for Future Equity, or SAFE (Contratto di Sottoscrizione di Futuro Aumento di Capitale), an agreement template that founders and investors can use in early-stage investments in innovative companies.

In 2021 he took the Online Certification Program for Fintech Professionals at the MIP Politecnico di Milano.

In 2016, Alessandro was on secondment to a leading international bank, where he served as legal counsel for the Italian branch. He earned a law degree from the Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi in Milan in 2007.

Before joining Portolano Cavallo, Alessandro spent many years with a leading international law firm.
