The IBA White Paper on pan-European
model clauses for round A investments

Portolano Cavallo, in collaboration with the Italian Tech Alliance and InnovUp, is excited to present the International Bar Association (IBA) White Paper.
The IBA White Paper is the result of an ambitious project aimed at establishing a standardized pan-European agreement for early-stage investments. This project has been supported by the IBA European Regional Forum and the IBA Closely Held Committee and has seen the active participation of about one hundred experienced venture capital lawyers from multiple jurisdictions around Europe. These lawyers have worked diligently for several years on drafting seven model clauses for an early-stage investment agreement to ensure their broad acceptance and applicability across the European investment landscape.
Representatives of the IBA working groups will introduce the project, exploring its goals and the main issues faced during the development process. Representatives of the Italian VC community, including investors and founders, will express their opinions on the impact that the IBA White Paper is expected to have on the European VC market. The floor will be open for discussion, giving participants the chance to share insights, ask questions, and engage in a meaningful conversation about the future of early-stage investments in Europe.
