Gaëlle Maisonneuve

Of Counsel

Gaelle Maisonneuve

Gaëlle has been lending her expertise to Portolano Cavallo since 2014, first as an outside legal consultant, and, as of 2015, serving as the firm’s Of Counsel.

Gaëlle assists clients in Italy and abroad in matter of both commercial law (commercial contracts, corporate restructuring and financial distress, real estate transactions, mergers & acquisitions, start-ups, etc.), and labour law (for instance, employees’ abroad assignments, work agreements for managers and executives in multinational groups, cross-border commuters, management of international disputes, etc.), with particular focus on business relations between France and Italy.

Gaëlle worked for more than eight years as an attorney-at-law at the Paris Tribunal and in international law offices, specializing in the management of legal issues across multiple jurisdictions. Her professional experience, academic training, as well as specialized knowledge of three European legal systems (Italian, French, and German), make Gaëlle a privileged interlocutor for French clients who have business interests in Italy.

In 2001, Gaëlle earned her LL.M. (Masters of Law) both from France’s University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, and Germany’s University of Cologne, after completing her undergraduate Degree in Giurisprudence at the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne.  To her impressive academic pedigree, Gaëlle also adds an undergraduate degree in Modern Literature awarded in 2003 by the University of Paris-Sorbonne, Paris IV. More recently, in 2015, she completed a Specialized Master program in Legal Advisor & Human Resources Management, offered by the LUISS Guido Carli University in Italy.

Gaëlle is a member of the Union des Français de Rome et du Latium (Associations of French Expatriates in Rome and the Lazio Region), and also collaborates with “PonteVia!”, a Rome-based French professional association, and the French-Italian Chamber of Commerce.

Foreign languages: French (native proficiency), English, Italian and German (speaking proficiency).

Since 2004, she has been a member of the Paris Bar Association (entry no. R169).
